Due to a bug inside Stormshield SSL VPN Client version 3.1.0, uninstalling the software through the Control Panel is not possible.
The following tweak must be done to complete the uninstall :
- Install OpenVPN Connect V3 to install a TAP-Adapter
- In the ncpa.cpl menu (Windows + R), rename this Tap-Adapter to "stormshield-tap" via the "Rename this connection" option of the GUI
- Re-install the Stormshield virtual network adapter driver using the following powershell command (admin mode):
C:\Windows\System32\pnputil.exe /add-driver 'C:\Program Files\Stormshield\Stormshield SSL VPN Client\tapdriver\OemVista.inf'
- Uninstall the Stormshield 3.1 client in Control Panel > Programs and Functionality
- Uninstall OpenVPN Connect V3 in Control Panel > Programs and Functionality
Install the latest version of the Stormshield client (available on https://vpn.stormshield.eu) in the user context (Example of user context: double click on the exe in the file explorer)
This procedure has been tested on Steve Robert's laptop with success (date : 30/06/23)
